What makes a Costco membership worth it for you?
Majority of Costco customers have freezers and extra refrigerators in their garage. Also buying in bulk keeps me from having to go shopping every single month.
The city I live in has 7 Costco Locations within 45 minutes from me, and an 8th Location is currently under construction
So basically it's not worth it, if you're a man child who sucks at being an adult.
A year after this video, we are in the corona age so buying in bulk makes sense even people who are single to limit trips to the store. So I am considering a costco membership for the first time.

I'm in a single household and it's worth shopping at Costco because I save a lot of money.
Just to name a few, the huge bag of baby bell with 28 cheeses is for only $13. Whereas at Loblaw's, Metro and Sobey's a small bag with only 12 cheeses for $10.99.
Vitamins are definitely cheaper, especially the twin pack. Dishwashing liquid 10 litre for only $8.00. Toilet paper, laundry detergent, fabric softener etc are in large sizes and much cheaper than elsewhere. I live alone and I've always bought non-perishable items and many other things that can be frozen in bulk!
Organic vegetables and fruits, especially the huge packets of blueberries and Raspberries for my smoothies are worth it, because they're so much cheaper than these grocery stores that I've mentioned above.
The only things that I don't buy at Costco are eggs, fish and meats; I buy these at the grocery stores that I've mentioned above.
I usually shop at Costco 4 times yearly and it's nearby; ONLY ONE TRIP covers my $60. yearly membership!

I don't know if I agree with this one… While I know gas prices vary greatly by region, my wife and I pay for our membership several times over each year just from the savings on gasoline alone. Where we live 93 octane is typically 30 to 50 cents per gallon cheaper than the local Exxon or Shell.
Well, certain things I need to buy in bulk to make them more economical for me and I like to cook at home a lot plus I live right within walking distance of a Costco and I bring my own cart when I go so I don't have to do much heavy lifting.

I have a smaller house so just me and Mom Dad grandmother in the summer but we still have a Costco membership mostly for the specialty Stuff Plus the giant bags of rice since we're Dominican and go to a lot of rice but I have a lot of specialty things I've learned to love from Costco that I can't find anywhere else so I still renew my membership LOL
Costco has been playing the mind over matter game for years, and most of their members, including myself, have fallen for it. You look at their prices, and many of them will say something like $7.89 or $4.90 as opposed to something like $10.00 or $8.99, because those few cents that they are subtracting tend to make us believe that they are the place for the bargains, and yea, if you do the math, it’s economically much better to have an amazon prime account and/or shop at your local grocery store. I’d rather pay just slightly more for the convenience of the delivery and wait 2 days than having to waste my gas having to go there and fry my brain over their horrible parking. And as for the food and produce they buy, yea it’s just better to buy that as needed, I think that’s self explanatory, even for people that have large families to feed, at least where I live, it’s actually cheaper to go to my local supermarket than going to Costco, like why pay $3.90 for 2 dozen eggs when I can get a dozen for $1.20 each on average, and yea maybe the savings are small, but if I’m going to be paying a yearly membership, it matters, I’m not gonna pay more to spend more.

My issue with Costco is that over the past few years, it has become so busy that it's not worth going there. It's hard to move around in the store when there are literally thousands of other shoppers in the way. It's an ordeal.
