Q.) which brand of golf balls do you play?
Hey Rick.. I am a researcher myself and really like the way you go about these reviews.. I realize you like to show off your skills.. I would too.. But in reality, the folks that will be buying these balls are going to be the average weekend golfer with an 80-90 mph swing speed, and very happy with 200 yards of distance. They are not going to be able to appreciate the subtle difference in distance. Interesting, that the 4-piece Kirkland ball that you gave high praise for might still be in some golf bags, and or, still in a golfer's inventory and one couldn't tell them apart unless one were cut it open.. 🙂
You get damage from your golf club plus you get damage from the backdrop used on this
I believe on them simulators you do not get your accurate rating on a ball
Durability is an overrated category. Nobody uses a ball for more than 18 holes, and most times it will be lost before that.

I normally play other 3 piece balls, Mizuno Tour RBX or Taylormade Tour Response. Since I still lose far too many balls, I wanted to try the Kirkland Signature 3 piece ball. All around, I would compare the Kirkland to the Taylormade Tour Response for both spin and distance. The Mizuno Tour RBX performs better around the greens and in distance. I also prefer the higher ball flight of the Mizuno ball. Both the Kirkland and Taylormade Tour Response scuffed fairly easily on mishits, whereas the Mizuno had much better endurance qualities. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, I prefer the Mizuno ball. Both the Mizuno and Taylormade balls sell for $2.83 per ball. The Kirkland ball sells for $1.04 per ball. For other than tournament play, I will use the Kirkland ball, and for tournament play, I will use the Mizuno ball. Just for reference I am 69 yrs old. My HC index is 7.7. My driver smash factor is usually 1.49 to 1.53. My driver swing speed is 95-98 mph. My driver carry can be anywhere between 235-260 yards. 7 iron swing speed is 77-83 mph. I will play from Tees that 6600 yds down to 5900 yards. Call me mister average.
Also would like to point out these are made by the same company that makes Taylor Made golf balls, Nassau Golf.

Love these balls yes that distance with the driver is disappointing plus honestly I use these but the durability is poor a round and they become practice balls if I don't lose it first but for a quarter of the price we'll worth it if you work out you are getting around 42 balls for the same price as 12 Pro v1 but for comps I still go back to the pro v but for everyday rounds great ball very cheap with fantastic feel and spin around the green don't notice any difference
Rick. For someone like me that is constantly donating golf balls to the course. For the price, it passes my test with flying colors.
Has there been any improvement with the now released Kirkland V2.0 ball? I’ve heard it’s a high spin ball. It’s funny but I find a lot of golf balls and the Titleist ProV1 balls by far are way more damage than almost any other ball (of course hardly a true example).
I think the denim was the distance culprit lol.
So they now have a V2 ball out… We need an updated review..
I wish I could just casually say, "I'm gonna hit 100 yard golf shots" as if I have any idea how to control my distance.
I really wish you had a downloadable spreadsheet with all the data for all the ball tests youve conducted. Of maybe a video where you compare all the golf balls youve tested to date./
I found two of these while playing yesterday
New version after their lawsuit. But for the value, they can’t be beat. They’re my new go to ball.

Does anyone know the compression ratio of the Kirkland ball?
Also, seems like rick was being a bit harsh on the Kirkland golf ball. Rick can afford the the Titleist balls with his endorsements but for us average folks, the Costco ball is just as good if not better than Titleist balls. Good review.

Durability means jack when you lose a ball every other hole
My issue isn't with any golf ball….it's the guy I play with…. he's horrible. He must lose 10 balls per 18 holes and that's a fair estimate.
