Congratulations for the simplicity of the video! I'm a medical student from Portugal and I was having a difficulties in imagining what would be like the test for grade two. For those who know how to do test it, it may seem pretty obvious (that was my conclusion after this video :)), but only from reading guideline that task gets more difficult.
I know that you skipped the demonstration of grade 0 and 1 for obvious reasons, but I was wondering what would be like to see a grade 1? I get the ideia of only having a trace of contraction – grade 2 was harder to imagine lol -, but what is the understanding of "trace of muscle contraction"? You see the whole muscle contracting without producing movement?
Once again, congratulations for the video. This makes a difference in medical education (at least it did to me)!
For grade 4-5 you facilitate with your left hand on the quadriceps. Is this intentional? And does this not affect the reliability and validity of this test?
