Ergonomics wise, I'm more for the M203 because it's best for either a left or right handed user. The M320 is more set up for a right handed user.
Hey it has got to be better than the M203. I used that back in the 80s. They called it "The Platoon Commanders Artillery " Which it was supposed to be. Since both the army and the marines had gotten rid of the M79 which put your squad down on rifleman (supposedly) having a grenade launcher integrated with a troops primary weapon made sense. The problem was that the 203 was so cumbersome to use that in a firefight people just did not use it in the heat of battle. The 320 was suppose to solve those problems. I got out before it came into use. I would like to know if it really did solve the problems or just add to it.
I've only used the airsoft version because i'm a civilian pleb. The M203 was fantastic since it was slim and didn't stick out. I tried the M320 and it never clicked with me, I understand the premise of giving a soldier an ultra compact grenade launcher instead of a M203 but….. if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Is there Pros and Cons between M320 vs. M203? As far as I can tel, the Pistol Grip of M320 will be a problem, especially in Tight and Urban areas compared to M203 Grenade Launcher that has no Pistol Grip and can fit through Tight Spaces. Just like the Masterkey Shotgun can fit through Tight Spaces than M26 MASS Shotgun.
I prefer Underbarrel Weapons on M4A1 Carbine that has no Pistol Grip like M320 and M26 MASS if it involved tight spaces itself.

M79 all day! I get that the 203 was one less to sling, but you could not use it dismounted and, as point man, there are rakes of occasions when the M79 Buckshot round is the go to. Nothing gets the head down as well as all that buckshot! And it leaves you able to twat anyone daft enough to go hand to hand. Not sure how it would work with the longer range rounds H&K are coming out with? Anyone?
i got Hk69 to replace M79 as Grenadier.
My Country use all Hk weapons.
Hk 33 can’t use 203, but there are testing Hk 416 and M320. soon it will be in service.

M320 was solid but comparable to m203, was just a change of tact style a bit. Would be nice to have the chance to choose which one
The decision for the M320 was because a lot of soldiers apparently wanted something like the M72 and the M203 wasn't going to do that without a separate dedicated receiver. So They got the M320 which could do both without any modifications. Honestly it's a brilliant design by H&K for what it was. I don't blame H&K for this. It's the procurement guys fault. Kind of asking a bit much for it to both be shoulder fired and undersigned fired on demand.
The ergonomics is inferior to the M203 and I guess that's the price it had to pay to satisfy the other requirements. But otherwise it does seem a lot of people love it as a stand alone weapon but not so much as a underslung.

All this new stuff that doesn't seem that good is corporate people trying to make money at the expense of the soldier.
Only good thing I see with it is the ability to use the long crowd control rounds and some of the old Jungle special antenna round type ammo that was made for the M79 and could not be loaded in the M203.

So the info I found on this said it has a better sight for day night acquisition but most men who use the m203 don't use sights because its 2nd nature to fire after a short time using it and they can instinctively tell where the round is going to land and it's side reloading and you can take it off and use it and at the same time lose the ability's to use your rifle it just doesn't seem like reasons to upgrade if anything just throw the new sight on the m203. The M320 has the same range, same accuracy as the M203 but is slightly heavier even more so with its laser, with a slightly larger profile. It just doesn't seem like a replacement more like the new sight should have been a upgrade to the M203
. Mind you the M203 cost $1,082 compared to the M320 at $3,500! That's over 2x more expensive for basically a stock, side loading, sight, and a laser for some weird reason…
If someone can link info that isn't some H&K spokesman hyping up his own system or a guy that thinks its better because its new and can show me a true non-bias party reviewing and testing the weapon so I can see why this was adopted or if this was bureaucracy like how the UCP camo got adopted.
