Notre Dame alum here, who's entire family went to UT. I hope the Vols can bring it back to the Johnny Majors era of my youth. They had some great teams back then. I have so many fond memories of my parents taking me to Neyland for at least 4 games every year. I was expected to go to Knoxville, but oddly enough a trip to South Bend on a crisp fall afternoon back in 1990 at 8 years old changed that. I was hooked on everything Notre Dame. The tradition, academics, small campus, we're catholic even though never really that devout. I was the black sheep. When I said my entire family; my mother, father…both aunts and uncles both sets of cousins (5) and most of my friends went there. But my parents made a promise to me when I was 14-ish that if I ever got accepted into Notre Dame, they'd pay. Well, I did…so they obliged. Best decision I ever made….other than coming back to the south to get my beautiful wife. You can't beat the southern belles. THE BEST!!! This is where it gets crazy. My wife was a cheerleader at Ole Miss, both of her parents went to Vanderbilt and her older brother went to Auburn. So needless to say…it's "interesting" at our table during the holidays. We try to be civil, as we are family…but we're all diehard fans of our alma maters. Anyway, I'm Irish first and foremost, Big Orange 2nd (don't tell my wife). She thinks I pull for Ole Miss after ND. Nope. Naturally being a ND grad our biggest nemesis is USCum and/or Michigan. FUCK THEM BOTH!!!!! But I may not hate another school outside of those two more than the goddamned pachyderms. If I had to choose between a flaming bag of dogshit and Alabama….I'd choose the bag of shit EVERY TIME!!!!!! This goes back much further than 2012 in case you're wondering. I was groomed in my hatred of Bama from my dad by watching "The 3rd Saturday in October". I always pull for the Vols to have a good season, it's been rough I know. I know ALL about up and down years….I'm an Irish fan. But hang in there Big Orange country, your time is coming. Everything is cyclical. Traditional powerhouses are traditional for a reason. They look much improved from the spring game, I know it's just a spring game…but improvement is all you can ask for, right? Good luck to you, I'm pulling for you as always. I'll be in town for at least one game…as always, probably Thanksgiving weekend (I haven't seen your schedule).

LOVE THEE, NOTRE DAME GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

  2. Rob Johnson says:

Lou Holtz said during recruiting you spend most of the time with the family because the family will have a huge influence on the recruit's decision. I cannot imagine telling my son to go to TN with Jeremy at the controls. Remember in 2018, those were Butch Jones' players. Nothing was really learned.

  3. Rob Johnson says:

Was it me or did the players look beat down walking to the field? And what a weak coach Pruitt is. And Chaney will never have the players respect. Tub of lard. I say 7-4 at best. 7-5 after the bowl. in other words, "how bout them vols that we have come to love"

  4. Randy Marsh says:

A big overweight person is usually lazy and undisciplined. So why Tennessee would want that as an offensive co is beyond me. Must be buddies with somebody in front office. The players work hard, so they have trouble truly respecting big fat coaches. That's anywhere, any sport. Whether they admit it or not, it will most likely affect the whole agenda, which is a championship.
