Will happen to me soon.. 🙁 Very scares after surgery…
Realy good doctor .
Here's my diary of osteotomy..pls turn on subtitles https://youtu.be/bb4VqZ6KaAE hope it helps
In x-ray showing no improvement in the narrowing of joint space in the medial compartment after operation even a bit narrower than earlier. I want know what was patient compliance? Had the patient got rid of symptoms?
I have a question why we couldn’t fill the P lateral gap with bone graft or bone cement…
thanks for this excellent demonstration ..dont you use Bone graft ?
I didn't see anything added to the gap that was formed by the surgery. Bone grafting? Artificial bone? I can't imagine it's left open like that…
Guys I had this surgery yesterday. I had a Varum left knee problem that was also compressing the meniscus and some arthritis was already present. I wanted to have this done now otherwise a partial knee replacement was foreseen in the not so distant future. Problem with this knee replacement is that it lasts from 10-15 y only and the procedure has then to be repeated, besides limiting the activities considerably. I was told that running which I like very much would not be an option any more.
The cartilage on the right side of my left knee had completely worn away leaving bone on bone which was very painful and made me bow legged. I had the HTO to move the weight through the centre of my knee and to make use of the good cartilage on the left side of the knee. Yeah it hurt like f**k for quite sometime but the eventual results were amazing. I had no brace after or physio & dumped my crutches after 4 weeks (probably too soon if I'm honest but they were getting me down). It was either this or full knee replacement – glad I choose this
I am doing either this, og half prothesis. The doctor recomended this operation instead of a half prostetic. Said running was out with prothesis. I have arthritis, and I'm not sure if this is what is the best…
Thanks a lot sir, I had the same thing on my left knee, bow legged, soon doing right side. From Singapore.
I would never do this surgery ever again very painful and depressing
very good.
Could you tell me how much does it cost?
Im thinking about getting this done, i have had issues with my right knee since 2001, its military related. I did have a lateral release done and scope, and it worked a little bit, but i still hurts like hell, this surgery looks so scary though. Idk what to do.
I had this done as part of my full knee reconstructions on both legs at the age of 15 – 18. I have some gnarly scars… but I can run and jump like never before even with some arthritis, and was lucky enough to have the screws and plate removed after all was aligned and healed. Great thanks to Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. Gave me my life back. <3
