Went to college during Covid, so I was at home but class of 2024 students found each other through instagram, and I’ll always remember this one girl messaging me with her pyramid scheme, i don’t remember what she was selling but they promised cadillacs, every single higher up had a cadillac. and i told her “hey, i’m not doing this. sorry this is a pyramid scheme” and she was just like “what do you mean?” and i’m like “girl it’s a textbook pyramid scheme” and she was so dumbfounded and i felt so bad, anyway i dropped out a year later.
my mother did in fact buy a $1,000+ vacuum from a door to door sales woman..
[ 59:42 ] Just thought I'd pointout: people who have had chicken pox are able to get shingles. There isn't any form of immunity from shingles but if you haven't gotten chicken pox before, you don't have to worry about eventually getting shingles in your lifetime. You guys'll be fine as long as you stay away from someone who's currently infected with shingles as shingles can be contagious.
Mary Kay reached out to a bunch of business clubs across the nation to help them become more popular. Our solution: stop being a pyramid scheme and sell makeup like normal brands
bae girlscout cookies are a fundraiser lol. it’s how we pay for how we earn patches, camping, and volunteer projects <3
ah yes, mlm my favourite
Everytime you two talk about bodily fluid it just makes me feel so seen
I've gotten so many messages especially around 2016. I always ignored them. I can't believe the girls are still falling for it
Loved the ep! But there are no "legitimate" MLMs. All MLMs are pyramid schemes.
Cancer is actually something that came up in Star Trek a fair amount
I will say… I remember Mary Kay eyeshadows being very pigmented
I piss myself when I cough too hard, as a smoker…
what the fuck is a verve isn’t that a streaming service how do you buy any
As a child every Saturday morning we’d get the routine knock at the door with the Avon women selling stuff! British people where you at?
i just got one of those texts yesterday from an old friend
Brittany! You should see a pelvic floor physical therapist. They can help out with what you have – technical term “stress incontinence.” Many people can experience urinary leakage from coughing, laughing, sneezing, etc. But you can work on it with PT! 🙂
i am a victim of sexual violence on NAU campus
I’ve gotten my ears pierced at Claire’s three times when I was younger. Idk why I thought anything would change. Piercings are supposed to use a needle so it doesn’t remove flesh. Claire’s literally uses something that punches a hole in your ear so it REMOVES your flesh. That is why it gets so easily infected and doesn’t heal because ur MISSING FLESH!!!
Is instafluencing an MLM?
I go to USC but I’m from Texas and Greek life is pretty big but NOTHING like in the south. Never been approached for an MLM but there’s still time lol
HOLY SHIT THE TEXTBOOK THINGGGG THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO DO THAT TOO
Having a god awful day and this helped pull me out of my depressive spiral, so thank you ❤️
There's no such thing as a legitimate MLM, they are all scams. If the only way to make decent money is to build a downline instead of selling a product (though they might do that too), then it's a scam.
My mom bought a a vacuum from a door to door salesman because she felt so bad for him. We actually had that thing for yearsssss at least back then the pyramid scheme products were at least good.
Funny you bring up Mormonism because as an ex mormon they are very into mlms and it’s intense
You can only get shingles if you’ve had chicken pox before
The funniest people I’ve ever listened to
Oh my god, I went to TAMU and knew someone that took that book selling internship. He met his wife there (they married junio yr of college and got pregnant soon after) and now they both are "diamond" influencers in Amway. The guy legit posts on social media like he is in a cult.
Girl Scouts, cookie dough, and gift wrap sellers are not MLMs because they don’t purchase the products themselves BEFORE they know how many they’re getting. That’s why they have people fill out a form before they order the cookies. For the ones that stand in front of the stores, I believe they submit an order with an estimate of how many they think they’ll sell based on the last years numbers. They go to GS HQ, then go pick them up. If they don’t sell them all while in front of the store, they can return them to HQ OR provide to a Girl Scout troop who needs them OR a Girl Scout who can sell them to people who didn’t have a chance to fill out the form before the cookies were released
